No doubt there are some lenses missing from my MF kit... they tend to be the high price spread. Yes, the NOCT would be nice to play with but at $3,000 plus a pop not in my budget. But I have TWO 55 f/1.2 S.C. AI lenses that cause my heart to flutter when I hold them, mount them, shoot with them. It probably says something about my affection for that lens that I own one camera but two copies of that lens...

Yes, the NOCT avoids coma once finds in other fast lenses, but I'm not much of a night shooter, so that lens really makes not sense.
The 200 f/2 AI-s is another pricey lens, though a bit cheaper. I've followed a few auctions of the final version of that lens and have been tempted, but it is still in the $2,000 price range. It is also a big, heavy lens. I consider the 180 f/2.8 AI-s to be the poor man's alternative. That is a desert island lens for certain. I also love shooting with the pre-AI 200 f/4 Q.C. with its scalloped focusing ring. I bought that lens in pristine condition for $88. The one on the right.

These lenses are amazing bargains and perform beautifully on DSLR cameras. Given em a try folks. My guess is you'll like the experience.
