p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Wav Files 1d mk iv - Help??

I am unable to find my .wav files in LR. I read where it should show up in Metadata as a sidecar file.....

Any tips on being able to play these files? Will it only show up with .CR2?

thanks.

Which version of Lightroom?

Mine shows up under Metadata in the Default view of LR5 as the 6th item down and is listed as Audio File. Click on it and it plays.

An easy way to find the images with a .wav associated is to press Ctrl-F and enter "wav" (without quotes) in the search box. This has worked with every 1D I've owned, but I can't speak for other cameras.

I haven't looked in lightroom but have found them in the finder in Mac OS under the folder that the pics are in.

Lightroom support AVI, MOV and MP4 files. WAV files are not supported, according to their FAQ on supported file formats.

WAV is supported in Lightroom as a sidecar file to a photo. I use the feature all the time in sports to record scores or details of significant plays.

using version 5x..... no "sidecar" info shows up...even when a .wav is present. perhaps I have to enable something for it to show (sidecar file)?

Check to make sure the .wav file is in the same folder as the image.

Try this, assuming you have Windows:
1) go to any gallery in Lightroom and select an image
2) copy the image's file name
3) right-click on the image and select Show in Explorer
4) in the Explorer window, right click anywhere other than on a file, select New then Text Document
5) rename the text document to match the file name and change the extension from txt to wav
6) go back into Lightroom, click on another image, then go back to the original image (this refreshes the metadata window). You should see the Audio File listed in the metadata window.

I just did the above and the fake .wav file shows up. I don't remember adjusting any settings to see the audio files.
