Also, how do you guys setup the camera? any tips/suggestion?

You need to update ACR to 8.7.

Download here:

Thanks @DontShoot.

Just downloaded it and it says that it will soon be expired? Does ACR gets expired? or it's because, it is only a RC?

Beta's and RC's expire soon after the offical release happens but no biggie; just download the released version when you can.

@Keema I am a new owner too. As far as setting up your camera, it depends on what kind of photography you do
I suggest for you to read the manual and then read it again

If you're just getting started, two outstanding books to read are:

1)
Understanding Exposure, author Bryan Peterson

2)
Light: Science and Magic

Understanding the principles in these books has helped me out 10k times more than any camera-specific guide book. Upgrading the gear behind the viewfinder has been what has worked most for me vs buying gear.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I have been searching online, I don't know if It can be done on the camera. But, is it possible to display all focus points in the view finder? Or in the lcd display?

Can anyone explain why this is happening..?

When I place the camera on a tripod. And select a 5 or 10 sec timer. Also, enabling "exposure delay mode to 3s".

When I take the shot on this settings: M mode, ISO 100, F2.8. Shutter speed is 1.6". The resulting image, when zoomed 100% in the LCD, looks like the image has some image blur, like the static image (batteries) moved.

Lens used is a Tamron 24-70 F2.8 VC

Thanks,
Christian

Oh guys, figured it out! this thing happens when I only enable the VC on the tamron. When, turned off, is all sharp!

That's because you shouldn't be using vr/vc while its on a tripod

As a recent D610 owner I suggest you give up on the manual and use it only as a reference.

Post what body you had before and what type of shooting you want to do (action, landscapes, etc.) for help on how to set it up.

I set up my D610 for action shots as the default, with U1 for macro, and U2 for landscapes. if there was a U3 I'd set it for night scenes...

For action I usually set Aperture mode and keep DOF in mind for the setting, I set Auto ISO and let the camera impose some limits like ISO 800, shutter for what might be moving fastest I am likely to encounter before I can change it. Does that make sense?

After days of using. I am getting used it by now.

Just need to store some settings on the U1 and U2. I like the idea of doing it like what @rw11 said: U1 for portrait and U2 for landscape (obviously that's how you'll really do it anyway )

One question though, what do you guys use for accurate WB? expodisc or just a graycard?

Thanks,
Christian

Either should get the job done if used properly, however there's nothing wrong with letting the camera determine the WB since you can easily adjust it later.

thanks for ur answers guys.

Another question. Since each of the points does not have a small "dot" inside how do u control the focus lets say in a situation where in, for example, the subject u want to focus on has a lot of things/distractions in front?

thanks

AF-S Single (static objects) or AF-C Single/grp (slowly moving object) should do it if I understood your question right. See sections 3 and 4 here on this link.

Thanks Jigesh..will read this later today.

Do you guys turn off Hi ISO Noise Reduction? Does Hi ISO Noise Reduction works as well if your format is set to RAW?

Thanks,
Christian

As far as I know, RAW/NEF shouldn't be affected by this setting (though, on a separate note, RAW is affected by "long exposure noise reduction"). For JPG, if you don't do external post processing, LOW (or sometimes NORMAL) should be a good tradeoff between noise reduction and sharpness. I keep it OFF (I am not a pro; pros who may have different recommendations). For external post-processing, you may find this or this (Lightroom) helpful.

Guys,

Just want to share a weird thing that I just noticed now with my D750.

I went to the menu to turn on show the focus points when reviewing a shot.
Now, I took a shot (not moving subject) when I reviewed my shot at the lcd, the focus point is not exactly where I selected it.

Any Idea why is that? Can someone test it as well.
Is this mean that my camera has problems?

Thanks,
Christian
