How can I use ViewNX 2 software to zoom into a .raw file, then write out what I see to a jpg?
I want to use the full pixel count in the raw file.

Do you mean crop? If so, View NX2 can't do that.
I'm not sure I understand what the second sentence means "I want to use the full pixel count in the raw file."

Thanks, I guess people call it crop - I want to expand part of the center of the image. Doing that on a jpg means you lose a lot of pixels.

and doing that on a raw does it too. no matter how you slice it, youre going to be removing pixels.

The only thing you can do is crop then upsize the crop but you need a different RAW converter than View NX2

You could export a tiff from ViewNX and upscale in Gimp.
I haven't tried it, but I imagine there'll be a loss of quality. Nyquist sampling theory and all that :-(

Hope that helps. J.
