I recently upgraded to a Canon 5D MarkIII with two lenses, a Canon 24-70mm, f2.8 and a Tameron 150-600mm. The local photo shop carries Pro Master filters. I bought the UV Pro Master filter for the Canon lens. The Tameron is a 95mm, which I still need to buy a UV filter for. I am not familiar with these filters. How do they compare to the other brands?
Thanks...

you do not need to purchase UV filters. if you are going to use filters and I do I use clear multicoated protective filters. multicoated being the operative word.

promaster is a distributor brand (sorta like a store brand for price point purchasing) the purchase product and place their name on it.

brands like B+W, Hoya, Formatt, marumi are optical companies. this is what they do.

i generally keep my filters on the lenses up to 200. bigger lenses are protected by the hood which remains on during use unlike the smaller ones.
