I'm back at my favorite things to shoot locally.
There are many areas around San Jose that have oak groves so I will have plenty of opportunities to shoot.
This is a scene that I notice when on my weekend bike ride.
I thought it might be an early morning shot but it turns out to be more mid morning. This was about 9:30 am.
The sunstar wasn't planned but if I waited much longer for the sun to move out of frame,
I would have begun losing the glow. So I kept it high in the frame.

This is a 4x5 film image taken with Ektar 100, which holds up well with bright scenes.
I wanted to push the limit to over exposure a bit but probably could have gone another stopped & pulled it back.

I have sat on this one to recheck color, hoping I got the balance right, avoided cyan, etc.
I'm hoping someone will tell me if the color is off.

Hey Dan,

An interesting shot, but it definitely has a cyan cast to it with a bit of yellow added to I think. Have you tried the Auto Color option in Photoshop? It usually does a pretty good job of removing color casts.

Nice composition by the way.

Agree with Jim on this one, Dan. The cyan is pretty heavy.

Jim,

You do realize you are my 3rd set of eyes

Interesting observation.
I did make another version with higher red content in the RGB mix of the sky but it was showing yellow in the grasses. This one, on my calibrated monitor at home didn't show the yellow but on my work monitor does.

I will definitely try autocolor as I'm trying to get a handle on what tools to mitigate the color vision issue. I will also revisit the "better" sky version

Thanks

Dan
