On Page 338, I tried those 3 steps, but it goes back to step 2 again after the second dots(On the confirmation dialog, select OK and press SET") under the step 3. SO I am confused WHERE to enter the settings I want.

Go to the Wrench menu and click through the several screens (Custom shooting mode>Register settings>Select the Custom shooting mode>Register camera settings>OK)

Set the camera first, then go through the custom shooting mode setting sequence; the camera saves the settings you have already applied...

Yes, set the camera first! Otherwise it won't work. lol

I'd suggest considering enabling the auto update setting so that changes made are automatically saved to that setting, otherwise it will always revert to the initial setting.

Yes, I set " enable to update". I tested too. I believe this function will be helpful on certain occasion. *~*
