I purchased a Samyang 14mm/f2.8 lens which arrived the day before we headed to Yellowstone for our Annual Photo Safari. Shooting at the Grand Prismatic Spring was almost the first time I was able to use this new lens. It was such a blast--I was very pleased with the results. Thanks for looking and comments are welcomed!!
Dave

Nice colors here. The algae is providing leading lines which play well with the Samyang.
The blacks look a bit dark here, which takes away for me. Also the hot spot in front left; not sure you can do much about that.

Love the FF 5D with the 14mm WA!

Hey Dave,

Pretty nice work here. That 14mm is a really nice lens and it's nice sometimes to go wide without dealing with stitching to get there.

I love this area and have a shot which has that little dark brown spot on the lower right as the main foreground element. The colors in your pic are very nice but the framing feels a bit cramped for me. Also, even though that lens has a lot of curvature, the horizon is leaning a bit to the left. I always have wanted to climb that little mountain behind it for a better (I think) angle.

It's a bit of a scramble to get up it. It starts on the trail to Fairy Falls, but there isn't really a path just a beaten scramble over fallen logs. I managed it being very unfit and with recent knee surgery, so not too difficult - this is what you get (from mid-September this year):

Neat colors. Without sky, it would make a great abstract.

Very nice, Dave, an unusual take on GP. The 14mm would make a great shot from up on the hill.

Nice shot Dave. I am a bit curious how it would look with the top of the mountains visible.

Dave, very nice. I agree with Doc about the mountains. Another option is a closer crop without any sky. Nice shot!

Here is another take, from a spot further up the boardwalk. The ridgeline is exposed.
