Hi,

It's been a while since I have posted. I have been learning new techniques in PS and have reprocessed this shot taken in 2010.

Thanks for looking and I welcome C&C.

Anand

You've got some nice soft light with lots of colors. I like it.
It is hard to get a wide angle shot of these subjects without fear of being yelled at, or worse, falling through the crust and become an instant baked pickle.
I'd be tempted to crop the bottom a bit to create more of a leading line with the water flow that is to the right of the frame. You lose some of that wide angle near/far, but I think a better comp.

Yep. It was quite hard getting to close to the surface even with help of the board walk there. The smell of sulfur puts you off within minutes.

Thanks for the suggestion on the crop. Will try it out.

Hi Anand,

What a cool looking shot. I like what you came away with here. Now while I like this composition, David's idea is an interesting one and could work well too.

I really like this shot and just the way it is.

I can see where David is coming from with the crop suggestion but to me, the dark foreground area at bottom edge in center helps lead my eye to the next darker area of water that is closer to the tree and that lead in line works well for me as thats how I literally saw this image when viewed for the first time.

However, upon additional viewing, I can imagine or "see" that the bottom center dark area and right side near bottom 'river like' water area compete with each other, thus wanting to crop.

I agree with the crop suggestion.

A beautifully color-rich photo none-the-less.
