p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · New Sony a6000 with strange behavior

I purchased the a6000 with the 16-50 kit lens few days ago.
I noticed some behavior when half pressing the shutter for focusing. My settings are AF-A or AF-S, Aperture Priority, Stedyshot Off, Lock On Off.

When Im in aperture f6.3 and up (on the narrow side), and trying to focus by half pressing the shutter on a dynamic scene with people walking or cars driving, or I am on the move and trying to focus on the subject, the scene through the viewfinder momentarily freezes and then gets released. This happens every time I try to focus.
The behavior improves though when I go down to f4.0. When I switch to that aperture and focus, no freeze is noticeable through the viewfinder.

Has anyone noticed that? I don't seem to get a definite conclusion as to whether it is my camera or a A6000 behavior.
