Has the D750 been out long enough to know there probably isn't any widespread big problems with it like we had with the D600 and D800. Oil spots, left AF issue.

No, not at all. I would wait six months to see nothing's wrong with it before buying. Plus ... for a lot of us wedding season is winding down. Why not wait till the beginning of next wedding season to buy, when any problems will have been uncovered.

I've got 2 weddings this weekend that I'm going to try it at (I might not even test that it is working first - HA!). My wife is a die hard pro-body, d4 shooter, and even she is thinking about switching. But don't let me convince you, because I have 3 d4 bodies to sell to one of you good sirs...

So how did they do? The D750 not the D4

Sam Hurd posted this nutshell interview on his facebook. He's a member here and I doubt that he will mind me quoting him.

Quote from Sam Hurd:

here's my d750 review in a nutshell.

d750 = d4s quality in a d600 body at 24MP, but not nearly as fast and fluid. better than a DF, but lacks the "tactile" experience the DF provides.

d810 = superior tones and color at base iso... significantly quieter shutter, not good for high ISO work.

canon = 750 is better than any of canon's current offerings. i have high hopes for the mark iv because canon lenses are superior, but for me i don't keep an image if it's not in focus or has high iso noise... which is typically the case in the canon world.

done. just don't have the time to write a full review like i had hoped.

Do it man, do it! St Louis will be a better city if you do and maybe the Cardinals will win the big one again next year because of it.

Isn't Nikon touting this as a new and improved sensor? I don't see any difference from the D610 sensor.

5D4 will be almost twice the cost of a D750.

I did find one issue with the D750 that caused me to return it. For some reason, I cannot use my standard setup of Phottix Stratto II trigger along with an SB900 flash on camera. The trigger will fire the off camera light fine, but the SB900 will only fire in manual mode, and "A" mode. I've used this combo for over two years with my D3s bodies and no issues at all. My local camera store is having an open house next weekend, with all the major reps. I intend to ask the Nikon rep if there is an answer, although I'm guessing he won't have one.

You probably want to ask a Phottix rep since they are the one that makes the product to work with a Nikon and not the other way around, don't ya?

Yeah, contact Phottix. If you get an answer I would like to know what they say. That really seems strange. Did you try swapping out the SB900 and/or the trigger to see if it might be one or the of those two?

I definitely feel like I am giving up my trusty Companion. This is definitely emotional not logical. Haha

As for functionality. I wouldn't mind a sync port to power my flexes, certainly something I can live without. I also have hit the buffer like Ross noted. It was during the processional and I was definitely shooting a lot cause of four kids. But still hit it. Now this is something that I have several solutions for. I use the same lexar cards as Ross, someone did a test on the 750 and it was the second slowest card. So I am going to pick up some SanDisk which write twice as fast.

Other than that. It's all gains in my eyes. And there are many.

No sync port to power the MiniTT1 eh? Didn't think about that.

But damn it's sure tempting to replace my D3S bodies with those. It kills me that the D3S prices have gone down sooooo much though.

I know it scares some people, like they're limiting their camera's abilities, but shoot in 12-bit compressed (even lossy) and you'll get some more cushion with your buffer along with smaller file sizes. I do it on my D600 and haven't seen any ill effects on image quality.

Not sure of that's for me or not. But I shoot 12bit lossless always.
