Is 1/32 on a speedlight the same power as 1/32 on a strobe regardless of brand?
Sorry for the ridiculous question. I've only ever used speedlights and got myself confused on a few things after watching hours of YouTube videos

My self answer is no. If it was yes then what would be the point in higher wattage lights? Other than recycle time.

No. Power levels like that are fractions of the max power of the specific flash.

Now let's think about it. You got a Speedlight with a gn of 90 and a 600 watt studio strobe. 1/32 is a 1/32 of full power, 1/2 is HAlf power and so on, now do you think the light output from a Speedlight equals a 600 watt strobe? If you do well is a 1/32 of the 600 watt equal a 1/32 of a 2400 watt strobe.
