I strongly disagree with this. If you are an established photographer and are trying to culture a branding and maintain customer expectations, sure.
He is not there yet! These are mostly assisting sets, and IMO each one keeps improving on his processing and feel, hopefully maturing to the point where he can stabilize. There is no reason for him to artificially cap his growth now.
Hey Joe, thanks for looking (again), and I'm glad that you understand where I'm coming from. Hardlyboring's criticism is valuable and are things that I will watch more closely going forward, but admit that things are changing very quickly for me since I'm so new to everything so your comments come into play there.

For the most part this is really really good. I agree with Doug re: processing but I also agree with Joe. I think consistency in a given set is important, but I understand if you're still fine-tuning your processing and figuring out what you like, what works, etc. Also those house-spotlights were kind of rough color-wise.
You're much better at identifying potential moments and composing the subjects in the same in a way that makes more sense. You had a few misses though:
7) Well composed, and understandable. But there's not a single expression on anyone's face here that shows joy, tenderness or anything other than just a really tight moment of concentration. This is one where you could wait for a better moment or skip altogether. Don't blog this stuff just to show it.
11) Her tongue here is incredibly distracting and unflattering. She's probably just doing a quick licking of lips that sometimes people do when they are focused on something. Again, would definitely not show this--though the parents look great.
28) Lady on the left has a bad "in between" expression while talking and the lady on the right looks engaged, but not really expressive in anyway that we can connect.
If you cut those three, it would be a stronger set....Show more →
I can't put anything past you ;-). #7 during getting ready might actually be an intended cull that didn't happy somehow; I probably just forgot to remove that one from the folder where I staged these images for upload. Though, I have to admit I was probably tempted to put it in just because everyone was in nice light and I was able to get a decent composition. #28 of the two ladies, the thought did cross my mind that the lady on the left might not have had the best expression and that I shouldn't include it. I should have followed that instinct since looking back I don't think that it does anything really to tell the story of the day or document anything particularly joyful.
#11 I actually thing was intentional towards someone in the crowd or her bridesmaids and intentional. I thought it was a cool moment of some goofing around during what is a normally fairly buttoned-down part of the day. I thought it fit her personality well judging from the time we were around her.
That said, thanks for looking in, dude. Really appreciate the time taken to give an honest critique, and thanks for having me out that day ;-)
