I think the B&W looks great and myself I have no desire to see a color version. This B&W version is quite satisfying and I think we can water down the viewers experience by offering too many views.

I shouldn't have made it sound like I only posted B&W because color wasn't as pleasing -- it wasn't, but I really do like the way the B&W looks. I just think it flat out looked better for this shot.
I do have a few more shots -- I took dozens here given the amazing composition possibilities I had -- that turned out really well too, one in vertical that is in color. Once I'm happy with it I'll post it.
FWIW, this is just past its eruption peak by a half hour or so. I got that just after sunset and while neat, it wasn't as neat as this shot. (I agree with you that it is more blob like during the eruption phase)
