The Thundercat season came to an end on Sunday with a beach/surf course at Newquay. Great entertainment for the spectators with all the crews wanting to perform well. The surf increased with the incoming tide making for some good aerials. These are like motorcycle and sidecar on the water!
These boats'll do 50mph, are very light and powerful. it's only the agility of the guy at the front who throws himself around that keeps them the right way up. Total flips are fairly common so yes some insanity is a requirement to take part!
Thanks guys, This powerboat racing is different from most in that it is accessible (photographically) from the beach as the course is pretty close in.
