I finally got my gallery of our Post-Galapagos-Cruise visit to Machu Picchu assembled. Although a bit tiring after the rigors of the Galapagos, being at Machu Picchu and seeing the environs was quite a treat for us.
The leisurely ride on the Hiram Bingham Orient Express train from Cusco to and from Aguas Calientes, although more than 3 hours in duration each way, went by quickly because of the nice amenities offered on the train; and the scenic views from the bus on the leg to Machu Pichu were mostly breathtaking.
We also had a few other not so minor excursions, including that of the town of Pisac and the Sacsahuaman ruins.
Here are a few highlight images. If you’re interested the full galleries are in the link below.
Hope you’ll like the images. They were mostly acquired with the 5DIII paired with the 24-105, the only DSLR and lens that I used - we also pocketed a Sony PS which was used sparingly. Quite a few of the images underwent a bit of post processing, including pulling out substantial shadow details in LR.
This probably belongs more appropriately in the Landscape forum but I thought that the 5DIII did a great job without regretting it's lack of an Exmor type sensor. I may post over there anyway.
