Mike, some really excellent examples of "found" natural abstract art here. I especially like the b/w ice shot. It looks as if it was painted by (a) a very good painter on (b) some really interesting drugs! Love the textures on all of them. Congratulations!

I just wanted to say thank you for the kind words. I was really surprised that National Geographic picked images like these. Someone there likes abstracts I guess, so that is a positive sign for those who do that type of work. Thanks again for the comments. Be well, Mike.

I don't think the popular use of strong diffusion for macro would have done anything for the first image.
