The bricks is from inside a silo/grain bin in a park near my office. Does it hold any interest at all? Interplay of curves/lines/patterns?

The stairwell is from a castle in Austra from several years ago

Sort of wishing the top of the first one was a bit darker. The second one is good, the shadows detract a bit, but I think I could live with that.

The first one does hold some interest as an abstract but I agree the highlights at the top of the image need to be reduced. I did not increase saturation, the saturation increase was from luminosity masks for the highlights and painting the overly bright bricks with a duplicate layer set to color. I randomly sampled colors from the bricks below. I also did a gradient map and a levels adjustment, plus added a vignette.

The second image is nicely seen and is more interesting than image #1. Shadows make it less than ideal but overall a very nice image.

Applied some luminosity masks to #2 to extract more detail....,

And again with #1 for a more sinister look?

Thanks for the comments edits everyone.
Sinister indeed on #1, Bob. I like keeping some amount of brightness at the top, considering it's looking up towards the sky.

Glad you guys like #2. Nice detail recovery too. I enjoy that spiral shape for sure.
