I find that FredMiranda is by far the most civil of the forums out there, and I scanned most of this thread and have only seen polite discourse and great images. I'm sorry you feel that way, but to be honest allowing others to remove your presence and the ability for us to appreciate your images seems unfortunate.
This thread has me debating my lens kit for my D700 as I switch from my D300s. I have a Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 DX, which is a poor man's 16mm f/2.8 prime on FX. I want something wide, but also wanting a reasonably fast walk-around (thinking 24-120 f/4). Might start a full thread with other bag implications, but thoughts??...Show more →
I owned a 14mm 2.8, 14-24mm 2.8, 16-35VR, tokina 20-35mm 3.5-5.6, etc and I hated them all for one reason and that is the F-stop. Some of the 2.8 lenses were great but were heavy vignetters and were just "meh" for me. As soon as I got the 20mm 1.8G, I knew right off the bat it was for me and I will keep it for a long long time. It's amazing, sharp from 1.8 and I can shoot at night handheld without bumping up my ISO too much. it accepts 77mm filters which is another huge thing for me. It's light and focus is fast. For interiors, it's an amazing lens.
