I've only tested it against a a 20mm AFD. It's sharper in the corners than that lens at all aperture settings.

77mm filter-kind of big. Gone are the days of mostly all 52mm filters. Now; 77mm, 67, 62, 58, 52 nightmare.

ISO 11400, f/16, 1/40 sec

I'm having such a fun time "honeymooning" with the 20 1.8G that can't find spare time to peep the corners

One of these days I will, but for now I'm having fun shooting the lens. Here's a selfie in the desert and a 'good girl' pic of my daughter..

I love mine and have no desire to bother trying to find a weakness..the results so far with hundreds of pictures spanning a variety of subjects and conditions has just produced very appealing results..good enough for me!

I loved the 28mm f/1.8 so much that I couldn't wait to buy the 20mm f/1.8.

I like the lens a lot although one has to be careful shooting at night with bright lights. Flare and glare are well controlled but the lens easily produces stars quite easily at small aperture. It is mostly to a great effect but the stars can be very overwhelming when the lights are very bright.

Here are some of my first images with it from the San Francisco Bay. The first one, from about a month ago, has overwhelming stars to my opinion, the next two, shot last week, are about perfect. The difference is the light intensity in the overall exposure.

All Nikon D810, Nikon AF-S 20mm f/1.8G at f/16, (#1 25s at 100 ISO, #2 3s at 64 ISO, #3 5s at 64 ISO)

I'm about to pull a trigger on this lens. gpelpel, what do you say when comparing this to the 28mm f/1.8G? is it worth owning BOTH lenses?

I actually sold the 28mm and bought the 35mm f/1.8G. The 20mm replaces the 28mm on the wide end. So my prime kit is now: 20, 35, 50, and 85.

Hmmm. Now you got me thinking. Quite a few people switched to 35G, I wonder if I should do the same...
