I think you've made similar comments before. I think it's important to understand that I work WITH the environment I'm given. So if it is lighter/brighter and generally more evenly lit and less dramatic of an environment, I don't go out of my way to make it something it is not. Many of the more "dramatic" and "dark" images I've posted previously are dark because the place itself is dark and again, I'm not going to go out of my way to make it bright and happy or experientially different than what it is. Hope this doesn't come off as sounding defensive but it's a little weird to me that you're looking for something in the photographs that aren't present in the reality of the place....Show more →
I have made that comment once before, then you posted a few sets right up my alley. haha. That shut me up.
This could have been the venue/event, but I actually do not mean just dark or dramatic. Take your original edit on 22 for example, the fact that you overprocessed this one a bit makes me think you wanted more contrast in that scene. Possibly it just was not there. Your OCF seems a bit conservative, but that could have been due to the limits of the venue as well.
I certainly do not think you are coming off as defensive at all. I may hone in on it simply because I want to be able to emulate it.
Getting back to processing a bit just because I have been staring at the images trying to quantify the above.... I do not think this set has any more variability than your other sets. Skin tone consistency is fairly similar. I think the variation is more apparent though due to differences in how the scene presents itself.
