p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Nashville Skyline at Night

I went on a FujifilmDury's sponsored photo walk Friday night with about 30 photographers. This is the photo I made of the skyline from the Shelby Street bridge. I used my Fuji X-T1 with 18-135 lens @18mm. I bracketed 3 shots +2,0,-2 EV. I processed the RAF's in LR and then merged them in HDR Pro in CC2014. I used the 32-bit mode and then processed that image in ACR. I also used Intensify Pro to finish the image...(plus some other CC tweaks). Comments and critiques welcome.

Thanks,
Bob

The reflected colors are great, and the processing doesn't scream HDR at all, so nice job there.

It needs some perspective correction, and it'd be cool if you have the editing latitude to bring out that skylight in the right side of the frame a little more.

This certainly does not resemble a typical HDR image, and I really like that a lot. Well done!

Thanks for the suggestions. So, I originally had tried to fix the perspective using Free Transform in CC but that didn't work very well. Then I remembered about a new feature "perspective Warp". I got some quick instruction on how to use it from Adobe TV. 5 minutes later, Voila! That's a great new tool that's in my mix now. Also, I spent some more time lightening and evening out the sky and putting more detail into the spotlight that was shining that evening. Thanks for the suggestions!! It's a much better image now.

Bob

Also try the "skew" tool. Check "Lens Correction" also in ACR

I took this from the Shelby Street bridge closer to the end near Titans stadium.

Dan,

I did try the skew transform tool and ACR lens correction. Neither tool worked as well as perspective warp. That is a wonderful new addition to the Photoshop toolbox.

Thanks,
Bob

What does the original look like? Please post the original. I think the first one looks over processed. But that's just me. Thanks for including the location in your post. You have a great eye. Good crop or lack thereof.

Your second one is my favorite. To me, you got it right this time. Better colors and the spot/search light is perfect. Your time in front of the computer was well worth it.
