Thanks to all. The surfers were pretty good on this particular day and the night skies have been relatively clear over the past week or so. Always a good thing when conditions are in your favor.

If this is as good as it looks for quick AF with F-mount lenses, I might consider trying one for daytime sports photography. Great pictures, thanks for the share!

The Nikon V cameras excel at daytime sports photography. You just won't get great subject isolation and once light goes down so does IQ.

I agree 100%. They don't have the DR of the FX and some DX Nikon bodes but they do nail AF, exposure and seem to have just about everything else aside from the lower end of DR. I was using my 1 AW1 earlier tonight and it didn't let me down.
