Refurbished cameras and lenses are very sparse!

Maybe not as many guys buying 6 copies of a lens from B&H/Amazon and returning 5 and testing and cherry picking...

It's an interesting design, on first use it's easier to navigate

Oh look, now it looks like something from the 2000s not 1990s

And it doesn't load in Safari. I guess I never went there before, and won't go now.

Faulty under Chrome on OS X too. Page loads then disappears - refreshing causes the page to flash but then it disappears again.

There are too many lens categories.

So Canon only wants to sell to PC users or what? Don't the developers test the site?

loads and disappears in firefox and ie for me. I've deleted cookies but no help. This reminds me of the fiasco last week with the redesign of the iMage site.

Loads fine in Safari 7.0.6 in Mavericks. Realize if you linked directly to individual product categories that link may have moved. Go to the home page and save new bookmarks.

Home Page Now opens in Firefox 31, but when clicked product pages flicker then disappear.

On Windows 7: Doesn't load at all in IE 11 or Firefox 31 (as described above a brief flash of something then a blank page and an indication that the browser is waiting for some data to transfer); looks like crap in Safari ( but it's an old version, apparently Apple no longer supports Safari on Windows); works just fine in Opera 12.17.

Verdict: not even remotely ready for prime time.

WIndows 7 Pro

No go @ Firefox here either ... Home Page okay, then the same as above.
No go @ IE 11 either. First try ... Home Page okay, then blanks. Now, even Home Page comes up blank.

Okay, so you can't make a webpage that loads ... what does that do to inspire confidence @ security for $$$ / info.
Not ready for prime time ... not even ready for not ready for prime time.

UPDATE: Tried a google search for CanonUSA refurbished and it loads up fine that way.

Still "wonky" when you navigate back / reload / etc.

Wonder now if the initial issues were server propagation ... ?

Canon's site was always quirky, maybe the redo will address navigation issues as it settles in ...

RE Refurbs, I like the new page layout

Bodies

Lenses

Speedlights Flashes

Using Chrome on an XP laptop...

1 - booted up tried to link direct to below and got the same as others, a brief flash of the banner then blank, tried to refresh and nothing worked. Closed Chrome and tried again with same result.

http://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/

2 - Closed blank Canon tab, opened a new one and loaded the Canon US main product page. One reboot I tried this sequence first and all worked also.

http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/home

Clicked on the 'Consumer and Home Office' menu potion, then click it's 'Where to Buy' sub-menu option, then on the 'Shop Direct' icon; the large shopping cart image...

http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/standard_display/where-to-buy-consumer

There was no flash/blank screen, all worked fine. I then repeated the above after turning everything off, rebooting, and again on first try Chrome exhibited the same behavior in both sequences.

So far I've not detected what the issue is, could be shockwave/flash; one of it's options, if I find something I'll report back. Been debugging for 2 decades on windows, doesn't mean I'll figure things out tho

As for the new design, it's more visual but navigation SUCKS, anytime you must traverse four levels to get to your subject it's a joke. Guess Canon hasn't figured out website design, ease of use in particular, sure glad this isn't the case with their DSLR menus.

...

Tried the above with Firefox v31 and get nothing with option one, with option two everything gets stalled when their initial ad server begins to load, it just never seems to connect...

...

With IE8 I get the following message no matter which sequence is used...

Unsupported Browser Error
You are using an unsupported web browser. Use Internet Explorer 10 or higher, or another web browser and try again.

...

Seems Canon didn't test much at all
