p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Question about paypal seller protection

Hey folks,

I recently sold a 70-200 2.8L IS lens to a member in a different buy and sell forum. I was the 2nd owner of the lens and it was tack sharp on my 60D and 5dmk3. I did everything by the books - paypal invoice along with shipping fees, sent her tracking number etc. The lens reached her on Aug 4th. Out of the blue, I heard from her this evening (Aug 14th) that the lens is not sharp on her 7D and she is disappointed and might have to send it in to Canon etc.

I gave her information about micro adjustment and assured her that the lens was tack sharp on my cameras. I am not sure how she used the lens over the past 10 days and I am a bit leary about how to proceed this this. She hasn't really responded yet about the micro adjustment suggestion yet but I want to make sure I have my bases covered.

I am hopeful that everything will work out but I want to understand paypal's seller protection. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to deal with this situation. Have you ever dealt with something similar before? I have all our conversations cataloged as well.

Thanks in advance.

Well, sometimes the risk of buy & sell are these situations. Sometimes the best situation is to allow the buyer to send the lens back at their cost and you both take a loss of shipping.
