I have noticed a change in Fred's Canon gear forum.
Some of the "older & more experienced" shooters no longer post here often.( I'm a geyser too.)

I do miss the information and the photos that they used post.

Cameras are now cheap and accessible, so there is whole new generation of younger shooters that started in digital. My first camera used 620 film.

You may be a geezer, but not likely a geyser unless you've been hanging around the Upper Basin too long.

Perhaps you should visit the archives.

Don't get me wrong. My first camera was a new OM-1. I much appreciate the fine quaities of old images and the valuable advice of any and all practitioners, recent or otherwise.

OTOH, as Bob D. said a few months ago, "The times, they are a changing", ...and so are the contributors and what they contribute.

Sometimes they mostly contribute to higher BP.

I'm a geyser...

There are plenty of people on this forum who seem to enjoy spouting off all the time -- they could probably qualify as geysers.

A sure sign of being a geezer is to bemoan the geysers.

John, I hope he really meant "geezer" and misspelt!!!

I am enjoying the word play here and my take is that, look at the image forums, Landscape, B/W...etc...Many of the posters there are "geezers" (what defines a "geezer" anyway? Length on FM or age or both and then some)and "geysers", and many of the more recent members are "geezers" but just joined.

I find I can learn a whole lot from the posted images. Especially if the poster is unselfish in his rendering of how he composed and shot the composition.
In that fact, not much has changed from film to digital in composition. While the cameras are more sophisticated, the theory of composition is not.

And gentlemen...I RESEMBLE that remark"!!!

Good thread!!

The new contributors on the Canon Forum are ....different. I miss the discussions when I first joined. The discussions were more about photography and technique or helping people as opposed to bemoaning why Canon hasn't done whatever regarding sensors/gears. I guess that's the reason why the Hide Me button is available
