I was looking for some different shots than the standard monument shots.

That's pretty cool.

While the distortion would normally be a put-off for me as cheezy for the columns ... they kinda serve as leading lines bending inward/forward to (almost personified) suggest, look down here to the Washington monument.

Nice blend of creative with formal. I might revisit the tonal values a touch @ some blown areas and maybe mellow the contrast in the perimeter areas to "re-draw" the eye a bit, but still very nice as is.

Stuart,
Was this posted before along a few others? Not alone? Lincoln Memorial?
I really like this perspective, New creative and spot on exposure wise!
Great image and perspective.

Thanks Dan, I may have posted a similar color version, not sure if I posted this one, if so .....sorry for the duplicate!
I have not shot with a fisheye because I felt like it was "not pure".... but I felt like there was a place for it in my event photography and then I thought that it might have it's own creative seat and I am finding that it does!
Thanks Again,
Stuart

Yes this was it!...Don't be sorry for reposting Stuart. It is a fine creative image. The perspective lends to imagination.
It is a solid produced image.
Photography is an art form. Rules are meant to be bent, sorry for the pun, in producing an acceptable composition. It has been, and will continue to be, an acceptable form in the medium and others.
Great works!!

Love the B&W version, and the way the pillars look like they are bowing to the monument.

Typically this type of distortion drives me nuts, but here it works!
