One of my favorite things about Nikon is being able to turn it on with one finger from the shutter button. Very fast.

I'm trapped in Nikon-Land and can't see out.

Decades ago I discovered that Nikon lenses turn one direction to focus closer and everybody else's lens turn a different direction.

- that micro is really just macro to the rest of the world

- more recently, I discovered that D was C - that is, DX is just APS-C.

What else am I missing?

Other cameras have electronic lens mounts with electronic aperture diaphragms (since the 1980s).

Other cameras need no reflex mirrors, glass pentaprisms or pentamirrors, but use a miniature backlit LCD display in the viewfinder.

Most 135 format camera manufacturers have gone out of business or only make subminiature sensor formats.

Find it hard to believe some can't wrap their head around which way to zoom.
It's only "backwards' if you let it be.

In the old days most zooms moved in and out. There was no rotation.

Are there any cameras that don't turn on from pushing one button?

The Fuji x10 and x20. Since these have an actual manual zoom ring on the lens they incorporated the on/off mechanism into it. you zoomed it out of its parked/off position to turn on and in for off. It has a well defined physical break over at the on/off point.

don't forget the Nikon mount is slightly smaller than a Canon mount and limits the max aperture of lenses. Widest aperture is 1.4, where canon can go as far as a 1.1
