This is one of the first pictures taken with my new EF300 f4 IS Lusm lens. I sold my 100-400 to purchase this and i'm amazed at the sharpness. Let me know what you think.

Hmmm... Teague, can you confirm that 300/4 IS is sharper than 100-400 IS ?...

In 2 weeks I will buy it (with Kenko Pro 300 x1.4 extender) to replace my Sigma 135-400mm, because of stop and IS... But I have a little doubt

Indeed, I think 100-400 IS doesn't give me so much quality differences so that 300/4 IS can do it...

(excuse me for my bad english !!!)

Hi Cedric, indeed the EF300 is much sharper than the 100-400, its also lighter and not as bulky. With my 1.4x extender I get 2 lenses in one both with auto focus. I'm certainly not looking back, in fact i'm going to start saving for the EF500 f/4 IS Lusm.
