p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Best filter for Canon new 16-35 f/4? (with no vignetting)

I'm buying the new 16-35 f/4 to replace my 17-40, but am worried about any filter on it (I use B+W) for vignetting reasons. Does anyone have that lens with a filter (UV/Clear) that they recommend. I'd like to still be able to put a threaded lens cap on…if possible.

I would probably stick with a thin filter, just get one with grooves in the front so that you can use normal lens caps. I think some of the new B+W normal UV MRC filters are pretty thin regardless though.

The B+W XS-Pro Nano should work and it is better than the previous F-Pro models (not sure about the model reference). Moreover, although being a slim filter, it has a threaded front ring, thus you can still use the original lens cap.
Personally, I use a Hoya HD Protector filter and there's no vignetting (at least no more than the lens own vignetting!)
