I stumbled upon this:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1062367-REG/lexar_lc64gcrbna3400_64_gb_pro_cfast.html

while looking for CF cards. It's enough to make you wish that SOME camera maker would decide to use CFast cards!

Man thats fast! But i only see that being helpful in Video or other high bandwidth applications.

Also, i only saw the read speed mentioned, which is pretty amazing in terms of how fast you could dump the card to the computer, but what about the write speeds?

CFast 2.0 memory cards are only compatible with devices that support the CFast format. *Up to 510MB/s read transfer, write speeds lower.

how many cameras support this new CFast 2.0 spec?
I haven't heard of any

I do wish card makers (in general) would stop making big claims on READ speed . and I mean that about ALL types of memory like this (SD / Stick / CF etc) at least as important (if not more) is WRITE speed .

I have no doubts that CFast will be very fast but at them moment its pretty much irrelevant to us as no mainstream still camera uses it . the other kid on the block (XQD) only has one taker in nikon with the D4(s)

Buy one of these and you'll need one or two of them.

Folks looking to shoot 4K video with a Sony a7S will need a few to go into these "Ninja Star" ProRes pocket recorders from Atomos...
