It seems that night after night, the sunsets around Many Glacier have been spectacular. I am posting my 4th example.

And the Story... I heard a plan to hike a few miles into Glacier, take some golden hour landscapes and then hike out quickly before dark. Well yesterday well before sunset, heavy clouds moved in. The woods became dark and then Mr. Grizz decided it was his turn to hike. I am keeping with my plan to shoot golden hour nearer to civilization.

Image #1 is my favorite (gorgeous!). Be safe out there playing with the bears.

That is a VERY close encounter with a Grizzly. I would poop my pants if I saw a grizz that close on the trail my way back to the car, alone, at dusk. Yikes!

I read the wildfires in eastern Wash. state are hazing up the landscapes in Glacier. Is it that bad? It's a shame if they ruin the vistas during the peak season which is just about now until mid. Aug.

They do help in creating a warm glow during sunset though, which you show nicely on the first pic, but kills visibility.

Yes, yesterday was extremely smoky in Glacier. I got some extremely strong God's rays which kept changing for over an hour. Unfortunately the photos did not really turn out very well because of the smoke. The distant mountains were barely visible. We just had a good rain for a couple of hours so that should clear it up for now.

#1 is my favorite, love the shot and the drama of the clouds with the glacier. #4 looks dangerous. How long did you wait before you started moving again? Stay safe.

Looks like the mountain is saying "Hi !" in the first one. :-) That's pretty startling with the bear on the trail. Yikes!
