Sometimes summer in the Southeast US can get a bit monotonous. Mile after mile of green, but sometimes the light falls just right and the green comes alive...

I left it lower contrast than I normally would, because when I was shooting I tried to take note of the actual visual tonal range. The humidity definitely flattened out the micro contrast. We'll see. I may bump to up but I'm kind of pushing a bit against the grain here.

I like the shot and don't have an issue with the low contrast in the hills and i think it works well with the clouds. I think this is a good capture in less than ideal conditions. The thing i find a bit distracting is the bright green bush in the lower right. I think if you adjusted the saturation down in the area of the bush in would blend in a little better.

really beautiful shot, but the HDR seems too over the top and makes most of trees look weird

Personally I think the shot itself is awesome, but the processing is not my style.

(man so sad to see all the giant hemlocks dead from the introduced pest )

SKiBum, You were absolutely correct. I batch processed the images for the Panorama and went back and looked at my reference image. Thought I typed in "clarity:10." I looked and it was clarity:100. That's what i get for flying on instruments. I'm on a new computer and was trying to process by memory on my old monitor. I was guessing until I get the new monitor calibrated. In other words, I messed up. Here is the corrected image. I'll leave the old one up as a monument to technology induced hubris.
