Here's a sunset shot on July 4th of Mt Adams in WA State.

There were some dramatic clouds which were moving around pretty good. The breeze also caused the water to ripple but at times I got smooth areas in the lake for a decent reflection.

All C&C welcome

I certainly don't mind the ripples. In fact I think they add interest to the image.

Hey Doug,

A very nice shot, and the ripples do add interest. But 2 things for you. I really wish there was more space at the bottom of the shot, it feels like you are cutting off the top of the mountain in the reflection. Just like shots need breathing room on the top, with reflections that same breathing room is need. Plus, there isn't anything really going on in the sky at the top of the shot, so to have angled the composition down a little more you wouldn't have lost a thing. The second thing is in the lower right corner, there is something poking in that you need to clone out.

Thanks everyone for the positive responses.

Dustin, this was taken from Horseshoe Lake. It is very near Takhlakh Lake.

Jim, thanks for taking the time to give me specific feedback. Very good points. I can certainly remove that branch. I looked at my other photos and found another from about 3 minutes earlier that had more room on the bottom. I'm not sure I like it as well though since some of the light is being blocked by clouds from hitting the very top.

Although it wouldn't be hard to combine two images to get both.

A Pacific NW classic image, Doug. Fine capture of Adams.
