I just read on flash havoc that the yongnuo transmitter for controlling the 560iii is available for pre-order. I have been looking forward to this for a while as it will allow me to controller the flashes inside softboxes without having to remove the panel each time. I have pre-ordered one myself and will post an update here when I receive. Based on my experience with yongnuo to date this controller should be awesome.

This looks incredible. The YN-560 III is already a great piece of equipment at a modest price. This add-on makes it spectacular. I will be adding one of these to my collection for sure!

Got the controller last night and it works great. Tried the flashes in groups a and b because i only have two 560iiis. Not sure what else to say but that it works exactly as one would imagine. If anyone had questions i can try stuff out.

got mine for $43 off ebay. it's terrific. mind blowing that you can get 3 legit flashes, with full remote power control of them, all for $250.

The flash (YN-560 III) is manual and can be used with any camera.

The remotes (YN-560TX, RF602, or RF603) can be bought in either Canon or Nikon compatible models.

The transmitters will work across brands also, I think matching brands just enables some sort of wake-flash function. I haven't played with that yet.

I thought I read somewhere that the 560-TX also works as a shutter release (just like the RF-603).

Is this true? Is there even the little 3-pin port for adding the release cable.

I only ask because I use my RF-603s as shutter releases all the time.

the only port on the thing is a little 2.5mm audio jack. the instructions say it's for shutter release, but there were no cords included.

Oh, that's right. The 3 pins are on the Camera side (depending on the model). The trigger side has a 2.5mm.connection.

It probably uses the same cables as the RF-603.

Man, i love this thing! It even allows me to control my flashes off my Mamiya rz67. I was consideirng getting pocket wizards for this but would have had no control and it would have cost many multiples more. Now i just need to test how high it will sync.

I appears as though it syncs fine up to 1/400 on my Mamyia RZ67. Although I am getting more sync misfires than with the RF-603N. Not that many that it is discouraging me from using this great little controller, but enough to make me wonder if I might miss a shot here or there. Could just be that I need fresh batteries in the flash. I will update as I use these more if the issue persists.
