I'm not seeing much use for this, unless shooting humans. How will the images of cheetahs or bork in flight look?

"bork in flight"? Do you mean Kyle Bork?

Does not bork. I mean, does not grok.

OK, I see the 'pork-abilities'.

Reminds me of something from Pink Floyd... Wigs on the Ping, or something like that...

My birds in flight images look so bad that they might as well be borks in flight

Filed in "< FM important threads >".

P.S. BIF covers "borks in flight".

Oh I think I get it now, actually kinda disappointing. I saw an earlier post today on CR I think it was and it wasn't so clear. This reminds me of the Nikon Scanners with Infrared ICE technology to help remove dirt and dust and such. The fact they talk about skin and wrinkles and blemishes makes me think they want to grab some UV and IR and use it as a sort of auto skin specialized fine bump/wrinkle/blemish remover. Maybe helpful for particular types of portraits, but nothing of any use for anyone else at I'd think.

I hope this isn't the big thing that is coming and that they tested a portrait studio the other month.

(unless the regular three foveon-like layers, themselves do wonders when you have the IR and UV stuff shut off, which is possible, or I'm misreading it, also possible)

It is also on Canon Rumors so its gotta be true.

I hope it is true then I won't have to modify another Canon to Full Spectrum.

Actually I guess it is sort of different than IR ICE as here it takes the IR hot spots as the better parts, but using a bit of UV, IR and visible it's the same sort of idea in the grandest scheme of things.

I don't doubt that the patent was issued.

The usefulness would seem to be limited to point&shoots or phone cameras, i.e. any image source that is destined for instant upload to Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, etc.

Or maybe certain types of studio shooters, the types who need blemish free, polished up skin and this helps throughput and ability to do that without messing with desired details as much, etc.

But for anything not having to do with people where you want some blemishes removed it seems like nothing doing (granted the blemish removal stuff might actually be a huge market, especially in the snapshots of friends and selfies age of today).

Flying pigs, sheep and dogs were seen lingering about in late summer of 1974, there were substances involved in the evening's going's on as well as music playing loudly with fireworks to end.

It was during Pink Floyd's Animals tour, the place Anaheim, California, infield seating, well actually standing, when I was of sound ableness...at least body

The show ended but something was missing, fifteen or twenty minutes went by, the stadium was emptying, people n cars barking at each other in the parking lot, maybe four or five thousand left waiting for the exit madness to slow. PF had done their encores, the lights were off, but no one was cleaning up the stadium, the infield.

One of my HS buddies stood up and announced 'let's get out of here' I said 'stay, there's more.' A 'why they've played everything.', relpy back 'no they haven't. The set list examined and it proved my friend's point.

A few seconds went by and the stage became busy again, not silent anymore. There was a brief mic check. On this late eve a tune began, all to familiar for PF devotes/followers, a cash register began ringing, change rattling about, Waters's slow, quite bass line, then Gilmour's six string. ..

You know the song, it's from 'Dark Side of the Moon' and something we all need for this passion photography...

MONEY

A five-layer sensor, interesting, could they devote enough resources in a three year period, field test and get to market...seems out of character for Canon...but who knows
