Bought the D700 through here. Upgraded from the D90 and it is so much crispier. It is an amazing workhorse!

Great images - D700 kicks! Wish I still had mine for those days when you don't need 36mp - then again, happy with the Df too.

After a little over 20 thousand shots, I still love mine! I'm keeping mine until it dies.

A great camera with a couple of defects, the viewfinder (not 100%) being the most annoying.

These are already in the 200 mm thread but what the hell. I bought a D800E last year but I'm definitely keeping the D700. I like to pair it with the 200/2G. 14-24 usually goes on the D800E.

It is funny. I will go with D810.

On my my third D700 after trying many different systems (m4/3, Fuji X, D600). Love the controls on this camera more than anything else. Wish there was a way to stuff the D600 sensor in the D700 body. I loved the D700 even more when I bought a 70-200 VR2. It weighs 8 pounds with grip and SB910 mounted, but makes an awesome action shooter.

Shot this photo today at my work.

Just grabbed a well used d700 and I am happy so far. Too many compromises with the d600 and d800 for me.

I don't have my D700 anymore, but everyone's photos in this thread and their truthful comments reminded me how great that camera was, no...IS! It was my first FF. Ahh, you never forget your first.

Nice one, Dan. Since the latest 'firmware update' I've been using ISO LO 1.0 in lighting like this.
It's that, or slappin' on an ND. Found myself bumpin' against 1/8000th all too often w/fast zooms.

Great stuff indeed. I am still amazed at the IQ, and don't intend to sell mine -- still wildly in love that it

Christian,

I feel obligated to tell that the D700 is old technology and you are combining it with the old 200-400/4 VR1 and so you will NOT be capable of taking a picture just like the one you posted.

Great Shot.

I miss my D700 at times.....would I be crazy to get rid of my D800 and go back to dual D700's?

Never knew about that Trenchmonkey. Thanks for the heads up. Got another shoot today (same senario), I'll give it a try.

Yeah the D700 is a classic and a keeper. I have a D800 that sees less use! The "4" plane is the Marine Corps piloted jet this season!
