Agreed, I can't even tell a difference with it on/off on my MKi, at least for stills
Reports seem to be showing a pretty good improvement for stills, and accounts suggest the active stabilization with video is nothing short of amazing, though at the expense of some additional image cropping.
I don't do much video, but one of those reasons is that I always rather hate watching shakey footage when I get back home. Makes me start to feel sick pretty easily lol.
I know way too little about video to tell differences in codec's and such, but if I can shoot handheld and actually get a semi-stable bit of footage, I could see myself really starting to do more video
