I cloned out a couple of commercial buildings in the background. I also brought in a larger moon. I created a couple of extra files from the original - one lighter and one darker.

Looks good.

With this shot, the entire sky and moon is free of subject motion, the distant trees would not be noticeable.

Three exposures, one for the moon, one for the foliage and one in between would work well. That the blended one I did was all from one raw means that the file was pushed too far even with the blend. I used a fairly aggressive NR and there is still some banding in the sky.

As you can see, I did not go for a large DR here, blending avoids the need to push a file outside its comfort zone.
