Here is one from up in the Northern California Redwoods, actually from in the Trees of Mystery attraction. A rather cool little attraction that includes a sky gondola. Obviously some gimmickry there, but in the end a pretty fun place.

So this one was simply a shot looking up of course. This is one of my few shots without a tripod.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

Jim,

I love photos like these . I like how the 2 large trunks anchor the sides and pulls you into the middle. Good job on this one.

Love the lush green colors and symmetry. Nicely done Jim. What was the FL?

Very nice Jim. I like balance of the two large (close in proximity) trees to the numerous smaller trees in the lower part of the composition. All the lines drawing my eyes upward.

Nice composition. I have been trying to get shots like this but none so nice yet. You have inspired me to keep trying.

Marvellous shot! As others have already said, I really like how all the trunks converge in the center.

A lot of diagonal lines here and colour "lines" like the line of green light up leaves running bottom right to top left. I like this!

This is really well done, especially hand held. I have tried some similar shots and find that I am too "shaky" to hold steady enough to get the great composition that you accomplished here !!

Thanks Jason, it was one of those shots that the moment I saw the layout of the trees that I thought it would be good.

Hey Todd, thanks! This would have been 16mm as I was using my 16-35mm at the time.

I agree with the previous comments. The two large trees add an appealing feeling of symmetry that makes this composition work very well.

I really love these wide views looking towards the sky. Ver nicely done with both the composition as well as processing.

Thanks so much Jim, I really liked how just having 2 large trees in the shot balanced the composition like it did.

Hi Jim,

Really great perspective of those tall Redwoods with a fine blue sky. Color is spot on. Sometimes a tripod just gets in the way of a composition

Ah! The haunting wedding hymn from the Cathedral ! You'll have to explain that, Jim. Good job.
