Does anyone have experience shooting lacrosse with an @65? What lens and settings work best?

If you are shooting at night the 70-200 2.8 would be a MUST! and even then you might find it a bit short, and of course my ISO comment from the dance question applies here.

If during the day, add the 1.4TC to the 70-200 and you will be fine.

The other option is to look in to older Minolta lenses.

I sued to shoot the Sony A500 a while back. I picked up a Minolta 300mm 2.8. Built like a tank but it worked for what I was doing......with the bodies having SteadyShot (VR or IS) you can snag an old school lens and it works like a charm.
