p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · How To Shoot Sports With The Fuji X-E2 and X-T1

After having some challenges with shooting sports with my X-E2 I did some research and experimented with shooting fast moving subjects to see how I could best tweak my camera's setting for the best results.

It's a little long winded so I wound up putting it all into a post here:
http://www.lightwith.me/how-to-shoot-sports-with-a-fuji-x-e2-and-x-t1/

I sure hope you guys find it helpful!

In a sentence, what's the gist of it?

Well, pretty hard to put into just a sentence, perhaps, read the article?

All kidding aside, you can just skip down the to the Now The Settings... part and not have to cover the nomenclature at the beginning. Let me know if it works for you.

Just wondering if anyone tried the settings and how it worked for them. Any feedback?

I mean if this is your criteria for shooting sports you could basically write the same article for Leica.

Or the papparazzis who tape their 70-200s because they just are going to shoot when the person is that distance from them.

Ya, probably not the best example, and those were the first and last shots so they are at the same distance where the middle ones weren't. I took some going front to back that we're all good as well. I did an experiment with a person in a swing that worked great as well. Just really bordering photos do I didn't bother to post.

I started playing with some of the AF settings and discovered something pretty cool with the Fuji. When I want to keep the focus locked is use the funky AF-L with manual mode. What's cool about that is that it's now manual focus. Let me explain.

If you set the focus mode to M (manual), you can use the AF-L (autofocus lock button) to autofocus instead of pressing the shutter release button halfway down. That's how I used to shoot Canon DSLRs is by moving the focus to a CF button on the back. So now I'll focus, then start nailing multiple images by pressing the shutter release. The great thing about it is that there is NO lag. Just press and boom! Same with follow up shots.
