Buying a camera like this, ie. a Gray Market camera is no different than buying a used 1DX. Any used 1DX purchased is not officially covered under warranty by Canon.
So the risk with gray market is exactly the same as buying used - you are buying a camera that does NOT come with a warranty. Though in both cases, you have an equal chance that Canon may still service it and may even consider it so under warranty - though they have no legal obligation to doing so.
Often one sees "new" cameras for sale on the B&S boards, claiming to include a full mfgs. warranty. Unless the seller is an authorized Canon dealer. . . these claims are simply untrue. There is NO guarantee that Canon is Obligated to warranty and needed repairs on those bodies. Though, just as above, Canon has a good reputation for being quite liberal with their warranty policies (thanks Canon).
So, in the end, buy this one with zero shutter actuations (which if malfunctioning upon arrival will be protected by eBay under the buyer protection system - this is assured). Or buy a used one with a higher shutter count and even less protection . . . and also without any legally obligated Canon warranty.
To me, this just sets the price value of a used camera body (in this case a 1DX).
