The topic starter wanted to gather a bunch of reactions of people that were happy with Nikon.
Let's stick to this. I AM HAPPY (in true Nikon slogan).
The topic starter initiated a thread on a public forum that anyone and everyone could instantly see was going to wander from the original topic almost immediately. This shouldn't be a surprise and I think it's a little presumptuous to scold people for doing so.

One thing I've come to realize now that I can't walk for more than a couple hundred yards due to this disease: life is a whole better if you take the time to appreciate what you have, rather than complaining about what you don't have.
I'd give the world to be able to take my Nikon gear out on my favorite trails and shoot for a day.
I do love this perspective - it is one I try to live every day. I think there's a difference between a discussion about what people don't like, and wrapping yourself up in negative feelings, though. We should all appreciate what we have, every day, but we can also acknowledge what is missing.
So sorry to hear that you've been robbed of one of your passions. I hope you are finding your way to some happiness in other pursuits!

Apparently good and happy are not why we are here ... I started this thread

and did not get a single response.
You started a thread on an enthusiast forum, pointing to a blog it seems like a third of your posts are dedicated to pointing to (and many of us already read), about an entry-level DSLR, and it surprises you that it didn't trigger an enthusiastic discussion?
Just like this OP, I could have told you that from the start
