I absolutely love the XT. It may not be perfect but I find I'm taking a serious camera out on walks again whereas before I would have left the D700 at home because of the weight and would have just taken the compact.
As for the 14, yes it's great. It's not a focal length I'm used to but after seeing some of Pentti Sammallahti's panoramas in his book that are done with this gentle look that I tried to emulate above I just had to give it a try. Normally I like quite grainy dark blacks with a 50mm or so but I quite like this softer look now.
I'm going away at the end of August (Istanbul?) and am thinking about doing all my shots like this (16:9 and 14mm). We shall see.

Thanks Bob.
I sold my Nikons and gave my old D50 to my daughter. It feels odd after 22 years of Nikon but no way am I carrying all that around any more. And with the XT1 and x100s it's a real joy taking photos again.

They were in camera JPGs set to B-Red, S -1, H -1, DR200, iso 640. That all helped give the very flat tone and nice cloud detail. I then added one of the standard Quadtones (Warm Black?) in photoshop.
