Thought I'd start up a thread for folks to specifically show off Nikon 1 images - I haven't seen a lot yet and I have an ulterior motive - inspire myself to up the ante with the (second) V1 I purchased recently - mostly for my wife but I wanted to play with the extra reach and high fps as well. The first one I bought died an untimely death in the Florida seas, just received a second from an FM member.

ANY Nikon 1 series body welcome, attached to ANY glass - post your favorites

I hope to do a lot better than these soon, just been having fun and don't know the body so well yet...

I have my frustrations with the V1, but it is still my 'camera you have with you' and these are all in that vein.

#3 I hated how I framed this, but not much of a choice and the subject more than makes up for it.

Nice images and way to start a new thread.
Here's an image with the V3, 32mm lens and a couple of inexpensive auto focus extensions tubes.

Sadly, I haven't used my V1, especially since getting the Df. I should get her working again.

Some great shots here.
I loved the V1 but have moved on to the V2 - I resisted at first because it doesn't have the clean lines of the V1 nor does it share batteries with my D800 but I think the ergonomics were definitely improved.
I still have a lot to learn about getting action shots with just the centre point focus when using the the FT1.
Here are some ospreys down the road from us. FT1 + 300mm F4 + TC14E

Yes, a dreaded cat picture Was wondering what it might be like to own the 32 1.2, this is with the Sigma 35 at f1.8 and 1 second rested in very dim light, still at iso100 to see how it would hold up, meant to shoot at f1.4 but I keep bumping the little aperture toggle on the V1.

But yep, cx can do some shallow DOF with a fast enough lens

These are wonderful - thanks for sharing!
All very different - 1st and 2nd are my favourites. Any fill flash in the portrait? I can't see any direct evidence - just can't help wondering given the sunlight.

Here's the "other half" of your earlier moon.

A few from this weekend.
All V2, FT-1, 500VR, TC14E

I'm having troubles getting a high enough shutter speed as I don't want to shoot above ISO400 (rather less).
The +0,3EV happened by accident. It's (too) easy to do this with the multi selector switch at the back off the V2.

^ you're also stopped down a bit, did you try wide open and not like the results? I'd dial in a little negative comp perhaps and open it up all the way even with the TC, should be able to resolve pretty well for not so many megapixels in the 1 body.

@pwschladen, no flash, but all were tweaked in LR a bit (up shadows, etc)

got a V1, 10-30 and 30-110 on Wednesday. Great little travel camera kit. I've used m-43 and it did ALMOST everything I needed, but not quite so I have a nice DX outfit (D7000 x2, 17-55 and 80-200 AF-S, TC-14E) but the V1 and D7000 kit are nearly perfect (it is like my wife's Subaru, gets me 90% there, but really need my 4x4 for the remainder). Here are a few from our still current Sedona vacation (heading back to reality in the a.m.) All SOOC minus cropping. Really loving this little camera. Can see a perfect travel kit being the 10, 18.5 and 32 (spent a month in Europe in 2000 with Contax G2 28, 35 and 90 and it was nearly perfect)

beautiful agave (if wife kids weren't here I'd of stayed for magic light)

What do other owners of the 10mm think?
I love the size and instant availability with no button to push and have been very impressed with some shots others have taken. But I am ambivalent. I've had some success with close ups and some nice colour pop but in many ways the 10-30 seems optically at least as good - and it is much more versatile.
I love my 18.5 though.
