Just a heads up though the Lexar 64gb on sale is twice the write speed as these Sandisks on sale.

Sorry, yeah my wording is confusing.

SanDisk 64 GB Extreme CompactFlash Memory Card $80 at B&H. Specs:
Read Speed up to 120 MB/s
Write Speed up to 60 MB/s

Lexar 64GB Professional 1066x $89 at Adorama: Specs:
Max. Read Speed 160 MB/s
Max. Write Speed 155 MB/s

I am not "up to speed" on the real world performance benchmarks of them though but the Lexar should still be noticeably faster than the Sandisk as they usually benchmark quite well (http://www.robgalbraith.com/camera_wb_multi_page7de5.html?cid=6007-12452)

But i'm also not even sure which cameras can write out that fast since I'm not in the market for new cards. Just something to keep in mind so you compare apples to apples here.

Yeah. I use dual record mode on the 5d3 so it's limited by the SD card slot anyway. Still a good deal for those cards relative how much they are normally.

Sandisk extreme pro sd writes at Max. 90 MB/s so these sandisk CFs may be the new limiting factor though (if thats what you have) and if you are writing RAW to both. But I have heard the SD slot is slow to write, so maybe the MKIII can't hit the full max write on an extreme pro SD... Either way I can't say for sure I'm still shooting with a MKII.

Edit: Nevermind I see the SD slot is quite slow: "Canon does not support the faster UHS-1 (ultra high speed) standard for SD cards, which means that no matter what SD card you use, the 5D mkIII will always revert its speed back to 20MB/sec instead of the faster 45MB/sec UHS-1 speed"

These are not the pro, I'll not buy it, they have lots of issues, can't compare with the quality of the Lexar on sale.

Write speed was never important to me. If I can get 5-6 shots in a row, I always have a few seconds break between that set and the next.

It's the read speed I care about. I love coming home and dumping an entire wedding in < 20 mins.

But the SanDisk ExtremePro (gold labels @ 160MB/s) are faster than the Lexar 1066x, correct?

I've only ever used Sandisk Extreme (non "Pro") and have never had any issues. The Lexars on sale are indeed faster though according to the specs. I imagine any issues with any of these major memory card companies (Sandisk, Lexar, Transcend, etc) tend to be anecdotal evidence at best.

it could be dhp, I use both, Lexar and Sandisk, only had an issue once with a Lexar and they sent me a replament in no time.

Excellent. I picked up enough CFs and SDs to fill up our three 5D3s, effectively extending our range to three weddings in a row- going to come in handy for our crazy September.

Just a quick update on this cards, I ordered 2 of this cards and they're super fast, love them, just shot 2 weddings this week and had over 1,500 images on each card with no issues.
Will get more when they get back on sale.

I read to avoid the gold label sandisk non-pros, they are supposedly worse quality than previous iterations. I can't really afford card errors. I bought a new 32g extreme pro last week from b&h for just under $100, it was SUPPOSED to arrive on July 3 for today's 12-hour wedding but has been delayed because of "UPS Error." I'll have to substitute using the 5d3/d800 with the two SD cards I have. At the time, Lexar had 1066x 32g cards for like $70 each vs. sandisk's extreme pro for $98 (now over $120), but the Lexar was out of stock and sandisk was not.

The prices go up and down radically
