From one of my treks in the area. This place was high on my list to visit.

Nice shot! I think the composition could be improved by showing a little more sky - the crop looks a bit tight.

I agree. But light was changing fast and the widest I had was a 17mm on APS.

The light and colours are both great. However I agree, it is too tight. Did you try and take any panos in landscape orientation? That is always an option when you cant quite fit everything into the frame, and this composition would be very easy to stitch.

Very nice shot. This area was high on my list when I visited there in Sept 2010. Love the Dolomites, gorgeous mountain landscape and beautiful light. You've capture that despite the close crop.

Thanks Justin. Yes, I did realize it after getting the shot. The light changed too fast and the warm glow was gone a couple of seconds. May be I should go there again.

Drown - thanks a lot. Yes, a beautiful place.

Great shot Prashant! I love the colours and the reflection you've got here. When I visited the Dolomites in 2012 this place was also high on my to visit list. I also struggled with getting the whole mountain in the frame with my 24mm lens (on a full frame body) so I understand and accept the tight crop.

I don't know about you, but one of my favorite memories is hiking back from here to the car in the fading light.

Tom - absolutely. My trekking partner decided to move on as it was getting darker. I stayed back till very late and am glad I did. It was thrilling to walk on the trail almost alone with headlamp and fast fading twilight. Eventually managed to reach the hut for a nice meal.
