Good deal. I've always really liked your work - particularly your lifestyle stuff. Those are always top notch! While I did enjoy this set, I thought there were a few things that could have bumped these up another notch.
First, what I enjoyed. I already mentioned how well you did with expressions, which for me is very important. I'm not surprised that the clients love these, because it seems that's what they really notice. I also really like your processing and particularly the color - I imagine the white balance in there might have been tricky. I also think you have a nice mix between candid and posed shots.
For what I thought could be improved - I thought there was too much head room in several shots, especially since you already pointed out the yucky ceiling. If I had to guess, I wouldn't be surprised to hear if you are using the center focus point and not recomposing as quickly or as much as you would like. I notice it, because I struggle with the same thing. I also felt that some pictures have a bit too much tilt, for the type of shot they are. And lastly, while I've come to love wider shots, I thought there were a couple where I felt could have had more impact if you were in a bit closer.
Some specific examples
6 - definitely too much head room and the tilt seems unnecessary here. I'd be tempted to straighten and crop the heck outta this one, to dump that ceiling. Maybe even to the point of dropping the guy in the dark suit on our left.
7 - similar thought.
8 - again similar. I don't think the extra space around them is adding to this one, since you already have some wide establishing shots. I'd be tempted to crop right down to them just filling the frame.
9,10.11. That head room :-(
12 - Now we're talking. That looks much better to me.
16,17,18 - Nice.
19 - Oh, the ceiling is killing me in this one, especially with the dress action we are missing. The wide is really good here though, including the observers.
20 - Awesome.
22 - Good. Slight tilt doesn't bother me here.
23 - Not sure on the head room here, don't know what was below them, and maybe that was even worst than ceiling ;-) But the tilt here seems unnecessary.
24 - both wonderful. On the left, maybe slight tilt here? But it works on this one.
25 - absolutely love this one and the layers here. Too bad it wasn't actually a smidge wider. But I also understand the challenges with that sometimes.
26 - 30. Very nice. Although 30 is one of the very few where her expression is kinda goofy.
31 - begging to be straightened and centered :-)
32 - great. Tilt on left is good here - I like it.
Anyway, I was pretty brutally honest with you, because I know you're a confident shooter and can take it and that you recognize these are all just my opinions :-) I don't think I could have done any better and actually notice a lot of the stuff I mentioned, because I do a lot of those same things.
Thanks for sharing,
