Just outside a kitchen window - we play paint-ball war with a squirt bottle.

Persistent rascals. Aperture f/5.6

Regards,

Bob

Nice comp. I am quite impressed with the minimal noise, the sharpness and detail of the lens!
I will try to get over the square crop

I know these rascals well, I see you have an empty bird feeder. Looks like the squirrel proof model

Only problem I see with a short lens is you don't get the typical shallow dof that isolates the critter. Nice and sharp on the subject however.

Nice capture Bob. He is sharp with lots of detail. Did you try different crops?

What ... got tired of showing off with ISO 3,200 and had to move up to 6,400?

Try rubbing seeds with hot red pepper powder or maybe some red pepper oil from an asian market if you want to convince the little devils they don't want to dinner at your place.

Image is rather gritty for my taste.

Thanks folks,

For full disclosure

- thank Define2 for the selective NR
- the aperture was selected to allow sufficient DOF to capture the rascal, and I like the layering of the background
- ISO is a function of high shutter-speed and dreary overcast sky. I selected the aperture, shutter-speed, and let the ISO be automatically set by the camera.
- crop? window frame begins immediately beyond right edge
- gritty: yes, could tone down some (looked good yesterday , used Perfect Effect Studio Enhanced for tweaking, PhotoNinja for RAF conversion )

- I like the lens for its, to me, soft and rich rendition. Old, 1970's glass without the benefits of current design but produces a look not available in current lenses. Longest glass for the XP1 at the moment, totally manual. Looking forward to using for portraits when grand-kids visit later this summer - assuming they'll stay still long enough.

Another version posted on BWVision - actually I prefer it more.

Thanks for looking and your comments,

Bob
